Vocations Team Hosts “Advent”urous Art Evening for Discerners

On November 20, the Columbus House of Welcome opened its doors to a group of discerners and friends for an evening of prayer, crafts, snacks, and fun. With the assistance of Associates Ramona and Roxanne Bartley, Vocations Minister Ana Gonzalez created a warm, intimate space that allowed local women to meet others discerning their call to religious life and create artwork for the season.

"We were delighted to welcome women from around the diocese," Sr. Ana said. "Some even brought their own friends, which shows an encouraging sense of comfort and openness surrounding their vocational journey.

This is the first of several liturgically-themed art events planned by the Vocations team. The next will be held during the Lenten season.

  1. It looks so welcoming! I wish I were not 85 and in a different phase of my life journey! ( not really!) May God our God continue to draw wonderful women and men into our embrace! Go, Ana, Ramona, Roxanne and Team. Come closer, all you discerners!!

  2. Wonderful gathering, and opportunity to invite young women to share and learn about community religious life! Blessings on the organizers, helpers, and attendees!
