Albertus Magnus students, along with group leader, Sr. Cathy Buchanan, and supporters traveled 600 miles to spend spring break in Columbus, Ohio.
The mission trip coincided with Catholic Sisters Week, and the students had the chance to hand deliver thank you cards.
Those involved in the card-writing project either handed out or mailed some 300 cards to sisters around the country.
The students also enjoyed some one-on-one chats and attending Mass with our sisters.

But there was service work to be done too!
And that meant visiting the LifeCare Alliance organization to package thousands of meals for those who are homebound.

From there, they were on to Shepherd's Corner for a few soggy projects on the grounds along with a meet-and-greet sessions with the residents there.
At the Dominican Learning Center -- they lent their expertise to design projects and even put together a coffee desk for the group.

All were projects that lightened the load for the those at the ministries -- and provided a way for the students to contribute to the groups' missions.
They also squeezed in a little time to meet with their counterparts at Ohio Dominican and had a few moments here and there for some down time.

In the end they agreed it was a spring break well spent -- they felt inspired by learning more about the sisters and performing acts of service.
As Sr. Cathy said -- many of the students connect spiritually by serving others -- so it was: mission accomplished.
And the word is -- we could very well see them again next spring break!
