When she heard about “Water by Women," which helps women provide safe water to their communities, Sr. Judy Morris was immediately attracted.
Sr. Judy has done her part to make sure those hardest hit - from South Sudan to here in Kentucky - get filters to purify water for their families. The "Water Women" learn to use the filters and commit to teach others.
Sr. Judy saw this as a powerful spiritual endeavor and started collecting donations for the filters. She even recruited Sisters to crochet protective covers for the filters.
Twice a week, she heads to the Water by Women Louisville office, thanking contributors. For Sr. Judy, this life-saving mission is a very good place to leave her fingerprints.
You go, Judy! Water and women are a mystical fit to be sure! Love, Barb
Do you think these filters are something that could help the New Orrleans community?
Way to go, Sr. Judy! I live in data center land and have worried about our well going dry. Thanks for what you are doing!
Judy,
Your service helping to provide clean water for years is an important ministry that continues to reach around the world to save people’s lives from disease and death. I know what it is really like not to have clean water or no water at all in my time in Nigeria. Water means LIFE to all of us. Thank you.
thank you Nancy.
Way to go, Judy! God bless your effort and those that are helping in this wonderful life-saving ministry. I know how precious conserving water is here in Arizona.
Thank you,
Esther
Thank you, Judy for all your work in this vital project. When I grew up (after moving from the city to “the country”) we had our own artesian well and a pump to bring it to the house. Often summer storms would cut the electricity… and we had no water! So glad you are working to see that war=ter is safe for the people in Kentucky AND in South Sudan.
Judy , thank you for doing this volunteering during your very active retirement. !… The clean water for the health of the women and their children, plus their deepened sense of their own value to the larger community in which they live, is priceless….. Thank you ! Kay
