On October 5, 2014, Sr. June Fitzgerald, OP, and Sr. Mattie Sterner, OP, were the on-air guests of A Nun’s Life Ministry, a unique and innovative way to bring the vitality of religious life to the airwaves. The program is a radio broadcast that comes to you live and later is available for podcast.
Sr. June and Sr. Mattie fielded questions from hosts Sr. Julie Vieira, IHM, and Sr. Maxine Kollasch, IHM, (creators of A Nun’s Life Ministry) with great insight and substance and a bit of humor as well. Martin de Porres Center hosted the event that drew a large and enthusiastic audience. Prairie Home Companion should be so lucky. Questions also came from a chat room facilitated by Sr. Pat Dual, OP, and included Sr. Amy McFrederick, OP, and Sr. Shirley Bodisch, OP.
A Nun’s Life podcasts are heard all over the United States in a live-streaming program about prayer, faith, community, spirituality, and many other topics. During the broadcast, Srs. Julie and Maxine interact with invited guests and with others in the chatroom. They are on air weekly every Monday at 5 pm Eastern. For more information visit www.anunslife.org.
Our participation in A Nun’s Life is another way in which the Dominican Sisters of Peace are engaging young people in conversation about their future and helping them discern a religious vocation. Faith leaders for the next generation of Catholics will surely come from these conversations.
Our Faith in the Future Initiative is aimed at engaging young people in conversation about committing themselves to service in the Church. Please consider supporting the Faith in the Future Initiative today.
