I must have been about 6 or 7 years old when I was told that my name meant “beloved.” I remember receiving that tidbit with the skepticism of a child with a strong will that needed to be tamed and sometimes redirected, much to my chagrin. My doubts would rise up each time I felt my mom’s strictness seem unfair or mean to my child mind. Looking back over the “wilderness” of my life, I recognize this has been the work of (if not the reason for) my spiritual journey…a journey into the truth of being BELOVED. Continue reading →
