Sr. Carolyn Krebs, OP (formerly Sr. Mary Alexandria), died peacefully at St. Luke Hospice in Bethlehem, PA, on January 18, 2015. Sr. Carolyn was born in Baltimore, MD, the only child of Charles and Agnes (Strickroth) Krebs, on May 7, 1935. She is survived by her cousin Margaret McGrath.
She entered the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine de' Ricci in July 1957 and was professed in February 1960.
Sr. Carolyn earned her BA in Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame, her MS in Chemistry from Villanova University and her MA in Spirituality and Scripture from Fordham University.
Sr. Carolyn ministered at St. Clement Parish in Saratoga Springs, NY, in the areas of Adult Faith Formation, Music Ministry and parish retreats. She also served in retreat ministry for many years, primarily in Albuquerque, NM; Elkins Park, PA; and Niskayuna, NY.
Sr. Carolyn served her Congregation as a member of their Leadership Team from 1990 to 1998, as President from 2002 to 2009, and as Archivist from 2010 to 2012. At the time of her death she was involved in teaching Scripture and retreat ministry at St. Isidore Parish in Quakertown, PA.
Sr. Carolyn will be cremated and a Celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
