Dominican Sister of Peace Thomas Ann (Ann) Ford, OP (97), died on January 16, 2022, at Sansbury Care Center, St. Catharine, KY.
Sister Thomas Ann, one of seven siblings, was born in 1924 in Louisville, Kentucky to Florence Hines and Thomas Ford. She took commercial courses in high school and worked for several companies before entering the community in 1955. She made first profession in 1957 and took her final vows in 1960. Sister Thomas Ann would have celebrated 65 years of service to God and God’s people in 2022.

She served as a teacher in Illinois, Nebraska, and Tennessee for more than 15 years. She also served her congregation as Program Director for the Generalate in Saint Catharine. Later, Sister Thomas Ann used her knowledge of accounting as Bursar and Director of Finance at Sansbury, faithfully stewarding the congregation’s resources to care for our elderly Sisters and the people of Springfield, KY.
After retiring from active ministry, Sister Thomas Ann devoted herself to an apostolate of prayer, which included making what she referred to as mission rosaries to share with others. She entered her final ministry of prayer and presence at the Sansbury Care Center in 2009.
Sr. Thomas Ann is survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Lloyd Ford and several nieces and nephews.
