Mary Faith was born to Marie Claire Murphy and Robert Dargan in West Haven, CT. She entered the Congregation in 1960 and made her Final Vows in 1963. This August, she celebrated 61 years professed.

Sr. Mary Faith dedicated over 50 years of her career sharing her passion for language, teaching Latin and Classics at both middle school and collegiate levels in Ohio and Connecticut. She served as Academic Dean at Albertus Magnus College for ten years before taking a sabbatical to travel to Italy and Greece, deepening her language studies. In 2015, she retired to Columbus and began a new ministry of prayer and presence.
In a letter to the congregation, Sr. Pat Twohill remembered Mary Faith as “a true Dominican scholar and intellectual who maintained a ‘common touch’ that allowed persons of all backgrounds to feel very comfortable in her presence.”
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mary Murphy Dargan and her brothers, Rev. Peter, Richard, and Robert Dargan. She is survived by her sister, Virginia Doyle, and nieces and nephews.
