Tribute to Our Memphis School

By Claire Crane, Founded Ministries Resource and Education Coordinator

On Thursday, January 9, the Dominican Sisters of Peace leadership team, Sisters who have ministered at St. Agnes Academy - St. Dominic School, Memphis associates, and members, trustees, and staff from Dominican Veritas Ministries gathered at the school for a prayer service and sponsorship transfer ceremony.

The prayer service included preaching from Sr. Joye Gros, an alumna and past board member of SAA-SDS, and from Sr. Cathy Galaskiewicz, a long-standing current board member of SAA-SDS.

President Tom Hood, OPA, and Beth Odom, Director of Dominican-Catholic Identity, presented the gift of a painted prayer bouquet, 30 jonquils representing 30 different prayers students prayed for the Dominican Sisters of Peace.

While a record-breaking snowstorm prevented an in-person parade through the halls, the school put together a virtual parade capturing the warm wishes and love of the students, faculty, and staff of St. Agnes Academy - St. Dominic School.  You can click this link to view some highlights and can go here for images from the day!
