Kentucky Sisters, Associates Speak Out for Mercy

In keeping with Christ's words in the book of Luke,

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me…to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor,”

on Monday, August 18, between 60-70 people of all ages, races, and religions gathered outside the Danville, KY, office of our Congressman, James Comer.  They came to pray and to speak out against the starvation of the Palestinian people and the utter destruction of their land. The Palestinian people have lived 75+ years without a homeland and without freedom to live without fear.

The group was composed of many Sisters and co-members of the Loretto community who planned the demonstration, and Dominican Sisters Marilyn Pierson, Jeanne Moore, Luisa Derouen and Rose Marie Cummins, and Associate Diane Shedlarski.

  1. Thank you, Sisters and Associates, for taking a stand, and for representing your neighbors regarding the disastrous results of the Big Ugly Bill! I’m sorry that it was impossible to deliver the letters to Rep. Comer. May God Bless you all! Let us pray for the people of Palestine.
