The Dominican Sisters of Peace were eager and honored guests at the Inauguration of Life Gurukula, a new Hindu retreat center in the former Our Lady of the Elms Motherhouse.

Spiritual teacher Shri Vivek welcomed guests of many faiths, expressing his gratitude to the Divine, then for our Sisters, then for the many people who came to celebrate, and finally for this sacred space to allow for spiritual and human connection.

A number of Sisters who formerly lived in the Motherhouse were able to attend. The Sisters enjoyed the opportunity to meet with the new community and learn more about their faith tradition, which, like ours, focuses on peace and communion with the divine.

The Life Gurukula Center will be a space for contemplation, spiritual reflection, and residential community. The center will also host workshops and other activities focused on learning, discipline, and service in the Ashram tradition.
