Sansbury Care Center held its Jubilee Celebration on Wednesday, April 29, the Feast of St. Catharine of Siena. Mass was held in the newly-remodeled Sansbury Chapel, decorated with pink flowers.

A total of 350 years of ministry was celebrated, from teacher, principal, interpreter, caring for the elderly, business manager, serving on the leadership team, bursar, gardener, missionary work, treasurer for the congregation, chaplain, providing religious education as well as visiting the homebound and pastoral ministry.  A true reason to celebrate! Father Tom Clark presided, and Sr. Rose Cummins gave the reflection at the Mass.

Our honored Jubilarians were:

• Sr. Narcisa Barreto-Perez celebrated 65 years
• Sr. Joel Gubler, Sr. Marie Jeanne Surette, and Sr. Clair Mahan celebrated 70 years
• Sr. Jean Delaney celebrated 75 years

We would have celebrated Sr. Marina Gibbons for 80 years of service this year, but we remember her in Heaven.

Each Jubilarian wore a wrist corsage in this year’s chosen color of pink, and pink flowers decorated the dining room as well. The tables were set with white tablecloths and pink linen napkins, and the kitchen staff even brought out the good china for the celebration.

Our honorees and guests enjoyed a dinner menu of St. Catharine farm-raised prime rib, twice-baked mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, Dutch apple pie with vanilla ice cream, tea, water, Merlot, and sparkling red grape juice.

We are grateful to our Sisters for their years of service, to our staff for their efforts in creating this special day, and to our many friends and supporters who help us provide our retired Sisters with a life of care and comfort.
