Albertus Magnus College recently announced the appointment of Sr. Ellen Coates, OP, a Dominican Sister of Peace, as Assistant to the President for Dominican Mission and Chief Mission Officer.

In a release the college posted on its website - which can be read in full here - Sr. Ellen expressed her joy in taking on the role at a place where she completed religious formation coursework between 2018 and 2024.
“I am deeply honored and overjoyed to join Albertus Magnus College, particularly as it celebrates its Centennial year,” said Sister Ellen Coates. “Having walked this campus as a student during my religious formation, I have been continuously impressed with the College’s diversity and vibrant embodiment of the four pillars of Dominican life. To step into the role of Chief Mission Officer during such a monumental anniversary is a profound privilege. I look forward to working with President (Dr. Mark M.) Camille and the College’s faculty and staff in helping our students understand faith, truth, honor, and integrity as they prepare to shape the future, ensuring the torch of Dominican education burns brightly for generations to come.”
Having made her Perpetual Vows as a Dominican Sister of Peace in November 2024, Sr. Ellen has led a religious life of varied service. She has served as a tutor, a COVID tracer, and a pastoral associate.
