“Neither Do I Condemn You”
– John 8:11

This Sunday, marks the beginning of our last week of the Lenten season, leading us into the journey of Holy Week. It hardly seems that just a few short weeks ago, I began another annual Lenten journey – receiving the ashen mark of my faith on the forehead and deciding how I might personally mark this season of prayer, sacrifice and almsgiving. Probably, this last week of Lent is a time that each of us might look back to recall if our Lenten journey was what we had hoped for this year, or did we fall short of our expectation or goal? Francis has encouraged young people to pray about God’s call for their life. The Church is, indeed, finding that there are young people responding with a willingness to be “open and sent” in answer to God’s invitation. Continue reading →

If I could apply a theme song to my retreat/pilgrimage this year, it would be “Lord of Glory” by Tim Manion which begins, “Leaping the mountains, bounding the hills….” Indeed, I lept mountains of luggage, ran for buses, scrutinized train schedules, and wondered if I would ever make it to the Rhineland Mystics Retreat I was to attend in the Ascasian region of Western France. Continue reading →
