Whether you are looking for a quiet, contemplative introduction to religious life or you would like to experience the joy of ministry first-hand, the Vocations Team of the Dominican Sisters of Peace would like to welcome you to one of our programs. These events are free and are held at our Motherhouses, ministry sites, and convents around the country.

Our in-person “Come and See” retreats give you and other discerning women an opportunity to meet our sisters by joining us for prayer, meals, presentations, conversation, and fun. Both venues provide you with opportunities to spend time with one of our Dominican Sisters of Peace to talk about your own vocation or to ask questions about discernment and religious life. These retreats also include time for quiet personal prayer and reflection.
Plan now to join us for our next Come and See Discernment retreat, October 2-4, 2026 in the beautiful, countryside at our Motherhouse in St. Catherine, Kentucky. The theme for this retreat is Pioneers for Our Times: Living Humbly, Praying Courageously.
Through prayer, reflection, and fellowship, participants will have the opportunity to listen for God’s voice and explore what it means to be called to live with courage, humility, and hope as a Dominican Sister of Peace.

Our 2027 Come and See Discernment Retreat will be October 1-3, 2027 in Columbus, Ohio.
The Mission for Peace experience allows you to experience prayer, service, community, and fun over several days! It is open to single Catholic women between the ages of 18 to 45 who are discerning a possible call to religious life or lay ministry in the church.
Our next Mission Immersion experience will be in mid-June of 2027. We will post more details about this free opportunity as soon as it is available.
