How do you know that God is calling you to religious life?
The answer may become clear through a process of questioning, exploring, and taking time to listen at a deep level to God’s voice in your heart. This process is called discernment.
The Dominican Sisters of Peace offer many discernment opportunities to be among companions and friends along your journey. You will also meet our Sisters and get a taste of our life of prayer, community, study, and ministry.
By participating in one or more of these discernment opportunities, you may find answers to your questions. At the very least, these opportunities will allow you to meet other women who are asking similar questions. Being with others who share your dreams can give you a great deal of support. You may realize that you are not alone after all when you see that other faith-filled women also feel drawn by God to vowed religious life.
Several times a year, we offer short retreats, often for a few hours, together with other discerning women.
Join us for group and private prayer, presentations, and discussions on a variety of themes. Topics have included Lenten reflections, praying the Rosary with Our Lady during the month of May, and waiting in joyful hope during Advent.
See our Upcoming Events calendar for dates, times, and themes for these retreats.
